LifeHealth Foundation

The LifeHealth Foundation is dedicated to providing services and education supporting lifestyle changes that help maintain or improve health to those who can benefit but do not have access nationally and internationally.

In response to the increased emphasis on improving the health of employees in the workplace, LifeHealth is partnering with other organizations to develop a grant in Colorado allowing small companies to offer on-site clinicians to those who have high cost chronic diseases and who struggle to make the changes necessary to improve their health. Critical is the coordination with community physicians, hospitals and other health care entities to ensure the needs of the individual and best practice clinical care guidelines are met. The project is focused on developing a program that can be rolled out to other organizations with similar aspirations.

Our most recent international work was in June 2010 when one of LifeHealth's founders, Elisa Hamill and her daughter along with a physician and her daughter went to Cambodia in cooperation with the Public Health Director Kratie Province.  The Director asked for help in diabetes education and treatment.  Thanks to generous donations by HOMEdiagnostics of glucometers and test strips as well as monetary support from the Methodist Church of Sun City Arizona, we were able to see 273 patients in 6 days of clinic.  Surprisingly over 24% of the adults had elevated blood sugar. We were pleased to have the opportunity to work with the hospital staff on diabetes education and to leave behind additional diabetes medications for distribution to those who cannot afford them.
